The WebArena route-duration example is a good specimen of task-validity failure, but the checklist framing treats benchmark integrity as a property you verify once. In practice a holdout is an asset with a balance: every evaluation round-trip leaks a few bits of the answer, and a leaderboard run at high submission volume drains it long before anyone needs to game a task. The two failure modes stack — gamable tasks corrupt the verdict, while repeated querying of the same sealed set quietly spends the noise budget the verdict depends on.
